Two people were killed while another was critically wounded in a broad daylight shooting outside G 11 Judicial Complex in Islamabad on Friday.
The incident happened despite tight security in the federal capital. Two victims were litigants who were returning after appearing before a court. Unknown armed suspects fled from the spot after firing. Police failed to arrest the accused despite having Safe City cameras.
Police sources said that Syed Tafseer Shah of Seela Syedan Karur area of Kallar Syedan, Wajid Masood Kayani of Syedpur and Nazir, a resident of Chatha Bakhtawar, were returning after appearing in the court in connection with an attempted murder case registered at the Sumbal police station when unknown assailants ambushed the victims on a service road.
The firing left one dead on the spot while the second victim succumbed to his wounds at a hospital. The condition of the third victim was stated to be critical.
