RFK Jr. allegedly boasted about intimate photos from Olivia Nuzzi amid sexting scandal

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. allegedly boasted about possessing "intimate" photos of New York magazine reporter Olivia Nuzzi during their sexting affair.

According to the Daily Beast, the 70-year-old politician shared details of the images Nuzzi had sent him with his close friends, leading to the scandal's exposure.

Nuzzi, 31, was reportedly confronted about the pictures by the magazine’s editor-in-chief, David Haskell, during a private meeting on September 13.

Haskell revealed that he had learned Kennedy had been discussing the photos and telling others he was romantically involved with Nuzzi.

Initially, Nuzzi denied the accusations but later admitted to sending the images, according to reports.

She was suspended from her role, and an external investigation into her journalistic ethics is ongoing, per the outlet.

On Thursday, New York magazine released a statement about Nuzzi's suspension, though they did not directly mention Kennedy.

“Recently our Washington Correspondent Olivia Nuzzi acknowledged to the magazine’s editors that she had engaged in a personal relationship with a former subject relevant to the 2024 campaign while she was reporting on the campaign, a violation of the magazine’s standards around conflicts of interest and disclosures,” the outlet wrote via their website.

“Had the magazine been aware of this relationship, she would not have continued to cover the presidential campaign,” they added, emphasizing there were "no inaccuracies nor evidence of bias" in Nuzzi’s previous articles.

The magazine further explained that Nuzzi was on leave and apologized for the breach of trust with readers.

Nuzzi also issued a statement on Thursday about the alleged affair, without mentioning Kennedy by name.

“The nature of some communications between myself and a former reporting subject turned personal,” she wrote, clarifying that their relationship was not physical.

Sources told the New York Post that Nuzzi and Kennedy exchanged inappropriate texts while he was married to actress Cheryl Hines, and while Nuzzi was engaged to journalist Ryan Lizza. (The Post reported that Lizza and Nuzzi ended their engagement following the news of the affair.)
