John Barrowman quit Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins after only 32 minutes, citing illness caused by a vegan meal and motion sickness. The 57-year-old actor, best known for his roles in Doctor Who and Torchwood, vomited following the first challenge and promptly informed his team, "I'm out." Despite offers for medical assistance, Barrowman declined, saying, "I don't need to prove who I am," as quoted by Metro. He later revealed that he felt unwell after eating tofu, which "made everybody eat vile tofu," according to The Sun.
Fans reacted critically on X (formerly Twitter), questioning whether Barrowman was paid for his brief participation. One user, Neil Woodward, commented: "I hope John Barrowman wasn’t paid for that pathetic effort."
Barrowman, making his TV return after facing allegations of inappropriate behavior on the Doctor Who set, shared during the episode that he hoped to move past the accusations. He said, "Having that happen to me ruined me, but this course is going to help me push through."
Other contestants on the show include Rachel Johnson, Pete Wicks, and Ellie Downie.
