Capital hosts 'Peace Cycling Rally'

Event brings together diverse communities to promote harmony and understanding

In a vibrant celebration of International Peace Day, the National Counter Terrorism Authority (Nacta) organised a Peace Cycling Rally on Saturday in Islamabad. The event aimed to promote harmony, foster community spirit, and showcase the diverse tapestry of the federal capital.

With the theme "Cultivating Culture for Peace," the rally attracted cyclists of all ages, families, and individuals with disabilities. Starting from F-9 Jinnah Park, participants pedalled through the city, spreading a message of unity and hope.

Addressing the crowd, Nacta's Director General, Saleha Zakir Shah, emphasised the importance of collective action in creating a peaceful society. She highlighted Nacta's dedication to promoting positive initiatives that reflect Pakistan's true identity on the global stage.

The rally was not only a celebration of peace but also a demonstration of inclusivity. Participants from various backgrounds and abilities joined the event, with special recognition given to differently-abled cyclists.

Senior Nacta officials, including Senior Analyst Adnan Khaliq Bhatti, were present to show their support for the cause. As the rally progressed, the city was filled with the energy of families riding together, children laughing, and community members cheering each other on.

Local schools and organisations participated, showcasing messages of peace and collaboration through banners and art displays. The route took participants through scenic areas of Islamabad, attracting onlookers who joined the festivities.
