Seattle-based rapper Macklemore has dropped a new protest track titled 'Hind's Hall 2', featuring Anees, MC Abdul, and Amer Zahr, in support of Palestinians under Israeli occupation.
The release comes as the conflict in Gaza approaches its one-year mark. The song’s powerful lyrics express a message of resistance and hope: "In our lifetime we will be free... And they can bury us, but they will find out we are seeds."
This is Macklemore's second track on the issue, following 'Hind's Hall', which was inspired by a building takeover at Columbia University in honor of Hind Rajab, a Palestinian girl killed in Gaza.
In 'Hind's Hall 2', the Grammy Award-winning artist specifically addresses Vice President Kamala Harris, criticizing the U.S. administration's continued financial and military support to Israel. "Hey Kamala, I don’t know if you listening / But stop sending money and weapons...," Macklemore raps, reflecting growing frustration among American voters over the Biden-Harris administration's stance.
Macklemore announced that all proceeds from the track will support UNRWA USA, a United Nations agency providing humanitarian aid to Gaza, further underscoring his solidarity with the Palestinian cause.
