Former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed’s playful comments about current white-ball captain Babar Azam during the Champions One-Day Cup have gone viral, capturing the attention of cricket fans on social media.

The incident took place during a match between the Dolphins, led by Saud Shakeel, and the Stallions, captained by Mohammad Haris. The Dolphins, who had already suffered two consecutive defeats in the tournament, faced their third loss in this match.

Batting first, the Stallions got off to a steady start, with Pakistan's red-ball captain Shan Masood and Yasir Khan putting together a 76-run partnership for the first wicket. Shan was dismissed after scoring 36 runs, bringing Babar Azam to the crease.

As Babar walked in, the crowd at Faisalabad erupted into loud cheers and chants of "Babar, Babar." The Pakistan white-ball captain did not disappoint, as he went on to play a crucial unbeaten innings of 104 runs, featuring 7 fours and 3 sixes. Babar's innings anchored the Stallions' total to 271 runs.

However, what caught the most attention was Sarfaraz Ahmed’s banter behind the stumps. While keeping wicket during the Stallions' innings, Sarfaraz was heard on the stump mic encouraging his bowler and making a light-hearted jibe at Babar.

He said, "Koi jaldi nahi. Inko Babar, Babar karne do. Hum Babar ko 40 over khila denge, baki sare out ho jayenge." (No hurry. Let them keep chanting Babar, Babar. We’ll make Babar play for 40 overs, and the rest of the team will get out.)

This comment quickly went viral on social media, with fans sharing the clip widely. The remark was seen as a humorous reference to the perception that while Babar can dominate the crease, it may not always translate into rapid scoring for the team. Fans were amused by Sarfaraz’s playful dig, interpreting it as a friendly sledge between the former and current captains.

Despite Sarfaraz’s banter, Babar's innings proved crucial as he held the Stallions’ innings together. The Dolphins, in response, struggled significantly with the bat. Their entire batting unit was bundled out for a mere 97 runs in just 25 overs, leading to a crushing 174-run defeat, their third loss in the ongoing Champions One-Day Cup.
