Teacher trials: One teacher for 115 students at girl’s school

School has been without teachers for over eight months.

A local school has only one teacher catering to the needs of over 115 students.


According to district residents in Khushab, the school has been without teachers for over eight months. “We protested before the summer vacations and the Education Department officials told us that they would look into the matter and the school would be upgraded after the vacations,” said a parent of a fourth grade student Razia, Ismat Bibi.

In the Government Girl’s Primary School Chita Soan Valley there is only one teacher for 115 students.

According to the school guard, parents of students have been protesting outside the school for months. Koh Sukesar residents said that the Punjab government needed to take immediate steps to correct the situation.

“One teacher can’t possible handle over a hundreds students from six different grade levels,” said a parent Mustafa, adding “the government needs to hire more teachers as soon as possible.”
