Thompson will reprise his role as Benedict Bridgerton, while Ha joins the cast as Sophie Baek, Benedict’s love interest. The scene, filmed at a stately home in London, featured the characters fleeing the ball and sharing a romantic moment in a flower-adorned pergola. According to The Mirror, the chemistry between the two actors was evident as they locked eyes during the night shoot.

This storyline is based on Julia Quinn’s third Bridgerton novel, An Offer From a Gentleman, which follows Benedict’s love story with Sophie, the illegitimate daughter of an earl. The scene reportedly mirrors a pivotal moment in the book, where Sophie’s identity is concealed at a masquerade ball, leading to a romantic encounter with Benedict.

Netflix recently confirmed that production for season 4 is officially underway, with an Instagram post announcing, “Please rise for Sophie Baek & Benedict Bridgerton!!!” Other returning cast members include Jonathan Bailey, Simone Ashley, Nicola Coughlan, and Luke Newton. However, fans will have to wait until 2026 for the new season, with showrunner Jess Brownell revealing to The Hollywood Reporter that the production is operating on a “two-year pace.”
