Actor and model Eman Suleman recently took to her Instagram story to call out the mistreatment women face in the Pakistani fashion industry, offering a glimpse into the darker side of the glamour. She didn't hold back as she shared her experience, saying, "Working in this industry has shown me firsthand how women are often mistreated. Their bodies and appearance are constantly objectified, and when they muster the strength to stand up for themselves, they are met with disrespect and dismissal."

Her statement paints a grim picture of what many women face when trying to assert themselves. The idea that a woman standing her ground is met with resistance is a theme that resonates far beyond fashion. Eman continued, highlighting the unfair judgments women are subjected to, "God forbid a woman asserts herself, she's immediately labelled as unprofessional or problematic when in reality, she's just had enough."

But Eman didn't stop at just addressing the problem—she also called out those in the industry who stay silent, prioritising profit over principles. "Stop treating your colleagues as if they're the issue simply because you lack the courage to speak up and lose money," she said in a biting remark.

Despite the challenges, Eman expressed gratitude for the newer talent stepping up to challenge the status quo. "Thankful for all the new talent who'll be ostracised but are doing the best they can to pave way for newcomers. Something we always feared." Her words suggest hope for change, as the next generation of women, even while sidelined, are taking brave steps forward.
