At the 2024 Emmy Awards on September 15, Alan Cumming, 59, made a lighthearted comment about Taylor Swift, 34, after both stars appeared in plaid outfits at separate events. Cumming wore an ivory suit with a plaid shawl, which matched his shirt and tie, while attending the Emmy Awards. Meanwhile, Swift wore a yellow plaid Dior dress at the MTV Video Music Awards on September 11.

When asked by Entertainment Weekly on the Emmys red carpet if Swift copied his style, Cumming jokingly said, “Bitch stole my look.” Cumming, the host of The Traitors, went on to win the Emmy for Outstanding Host of Reality/Competition Program. He also accepted the award for Outstanding Reality Competition Program for The Traitors during the ceremony.

Swift, who won seven awards at the MTV VMAs, including Video of the Year, also made headlines recently for her support of boyfriend Travis Kelce, cheering him on at the Kansas City Chiefs' game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, September 15. She was seen wearing a vintage Chiefs shirtdress from a local Kansas City boutique.

While Swift frequently changes her style to match her album eras, Cumming remains loyal to plaid, reflecting his Scottish heritage. In a July interview with TV Insider, Cumming noted, “I don’t normally dress like this. The costume adds so much to it.”
