Nicki Minaj has been trending on social media after showing her support for Lil Wayne, who was not selected as the headliner for the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show. Fans of both artists also voiced their opinions on various platforms.
Wayne recently posted a video on his Instagram on September 13, 2024, expressing his disappointment, and Minaj responded by leaving a comment under the post.
Minaj began her comment by writing, "This too, shall pass - but what you have done for the Hip Hop culture will remain. It will stand the test of time. Many times our greatest & most dehumanizing test is just a way for God to get the glory. You were simply used in a war of egos. To ppl who are empty inside, all they have is their temporary power."
Nicki Minaj addressed those "spending money" to spread the "worst" about Wayne, stating that God would turn it into the best of Wayne.
She added that no one is perfect and continued, "When they go out of their way to circulate the worst of human beings, the worst of them shall be circulated & magnified, TOO!!!!! It will be their demise. The Lord has warned them time & time & time again. Their stone cold hearts believe they are above reproach but this time they'll regret it."
However, Minaj's comment did not go over well with the public, and she faced criticism in the comments section of The Shade Room’s Instagram post, which featured a screenshot of her response. One user wrote:

Fans of Kendrick Lamar, who was selected as the headliner, also criticized Minaj, pointing out that no one has congratulated Lamar yet. Others felt Wayne not being chosen was a minor issue and urged people to focus on more pressing matters, such as a lynching incident in North Carolina involving a "young black man."
