ISLAMABAD:

JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has dismissed speculations about the imposition of the governor's rule in K-P, calling them baseless.

During a media interaction on Friday, Fazl asserted there were no conditions in the province that would justify the governor's rule.

However, he acknowledged that the situation in the province was far from ideal.

"The law-and-order situation in several districts is concerning," he remarked, further questioning whether the governor had the capacity to effectively control the situation. He was responding to a journalist's query on whether the situation in the province warranted the governor's rule.

Addressing K-P Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur's statement calling for direct negotiations with Afghanistan to address terrorism, the JUI-F leader dismissed it as an emotional outburst. "These are just emotional remarks, detached from reality," he added.

Regarding the constitutional amendments the government aims to bring to the parliament, Fazlur Rehman clarified his party's stance, saying that it would back any such tweaks. "We made our position clear yesterday."
