Calling all aspiring young wizards and witches! HBO has officially launched an open casting call for its upcoming 'Harry Potter' television series, seeking to discover the next generation of actors to portray the beloved trio: Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley.

The casting call is specifically seeking children residing in the UK or Ireland who will be between the ages of 9 and 11 in April 2025. Notably, HBO emphasizes its commitment to inclusive casting, ensuring that all talented individuals, regardless of background, have an equal opportunity to audition.

This inclusivity pledge follows criticism of the franchise due to author J.K. Rowling's controversial views on transgender rights. In contrast, Daniel Radcliffe, the original Harry Potter, has actively supported the trans community.

While the search for the new Harry, Ron, and Hermione is underway, one original cast member, Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy), has expressed interest in returning, albeit lightheartedly suggesting a hefty price tag for his involvement.

The 'Harry Potter' series is set to begin filming early next year, with 'Succession' producer Francesca Gardiner at the helm. Mark Mylod, another 'Succession' alum, will contribute as writer and director. The project is a collaboration between Warner Bros. Television and J.K. Rowling's Bronte Film.
