Selena Gomez recently shared in an interview with Vanity Fair that she cannot carry her own children due to medical complications. The 31-year-old singer, who has been open about her struggles with lupus, a kidney transplant, and bipolar depression, explained that these health issues would make pregnancy dangerous for both her and the baby. “I unfortunately can’t carry my own children. I have a lot of medical issues that would put my life and the baby’s in jeopardy,” Gomez revealed.

Despite this, Gomez remains hopeful and excited about becoming a parent through surrogacy or adoption. “It’s not necessarily the way I envisioned it, but I’m in a much better place with that,” she said. “I find it a blessing that there are wonderful people willing to do surrogacy or adoption. I’m excited for what that journey will look like.”

Gomez, who is currently in a relationship with music producer Benny Blanco, also spoke about her relationship, expressing no rush to get married. “We always make sure we’re protecting what we have, but there’s no rules,” she said. Gomez emphasized that, even if she marries, she will keep her name: “I am Selena Gomez. That’s it.”
