Country braces for hot and dry spell, northern areas may see showers: PMD

Most parts of Pakistan are expected to experience hot and dry weather in the coming days, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

Hot and dry conditions are forecast for the Islamabad region, as well as Sindh, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In contrast, parts of Chitral, Swat, Dir, Kohistan, Laki Marwat, and Dera Ismail Khan may see light rain accompanied by thunderstorms.

The weather in Balochistan is also predicted to remain predominantly hot and dry.

In Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, partly cloudy skies are expected, with isolated areas likely to experience light rain and thunderstorms.

Yesterday, Karachi's weather remained humid with partly cloudy skies throughout the day, according to the PMD.

While no significant rainfall is expected over the next 24 hours, light drizzle may occur in various parts of the city.

The minimum temperature in Karachi was recorded at 26.5°C, with a maximum temperature of 33°C anticipated.

Sea breezes were forecasted to blow at speeds of 10 to 20 km/h, while high humidity levels were making the temperature feel about 5°C higher than the actual readings.

The city is unlikely to see any heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours, but residents can expect intermittent drizzle in some areas.
