The Dare has officially released his debut album What’s Wrong With New York? The long-awaited project, which features dance-punk tracks, is out today via Republic Records.

Alongside the album drop, The Dare has unveiled a new single, "Perfume," complete with a black-and-white music video directed by Nick Harwood.

The Dare, also known as Harrison Patrick Smith, will be embarking on his first headlining North American tour, kicking off on September 5 at New York’s Webster Hall.

The tour will visit multiple cities, including Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. Tickets for these performances are available now.

What’s Wrong With New York? was crafted over the past year, split between The Dare’s home and studio in New York. The album includes tracks like "Good Time" and "Girls," both of which were previously featured on The Dare’s The Sex EP in 2023. Notable collaborators on the album include Dylan Brady (100 gecs), Emile Haynie (Lana Del Rey), Romil Hemnani (Brockhampton), and Isaac Eiger of Strange Ranger.

The Dare, who first gained recognition in 2022 with "Girls," has become known for his energetic live performances and frequent DJ sets. In addition to his work on the new album, he recently opened for Charli XCX and performed at festivals such as Primavera and Great Escape.
