Barron Trump begins freshman year at NYU's Stern School of Business

“He’s doing great,” Donald Trump said of his youngest son, who recently started his studies at New York University.

Former President Donald Trump’s youngest son, Barron Trump, has officially begun his freshman year at New York University’s Stern School of Business, one of the top business programs in the nation. 

Trump confirmed the news during an interview with the 'Daily Mail' on Wednesday, putting to rest months of speculation about Barron’s college decision.

“He’s a very high aptitude child, but he’s no longer a child. He’s doing great,” Trump said proudly of his 18-year-old son. Barron, who graduated in May from Oxbridge Academy in Florida, is now attending classes in downtown Manhattan, just a few miles from his childhood home at Trump Tower.

It remains unclear whether Barron will live on campus or at home. 

NYU's Stern campus, located near Washington Square Park, has added extra security for the fall semester following past protests.

Unlike three of his siblings — Ivanka, Tiffany, and Donald Jr. — who attended the University of Pennsylvania, Barron opted for NYU's Stern over his father’s alma mater, Wharton. 

“We didn’t do that. We went to Stern,” Trump noted.
