Islamabad hosts Korea Week to celebrate cultural ties

ISLAMABAD:

The South Korean Embassy in Pakistan is set to host Korea Week from October 22 to October 27 to promote cultural ties between Pakistan and South Korea. The week-long series of events aims to strengthen the relationship between the two countries.

In a press conference, South Korean Ambassador Park Ki Jun announced that the Korean Week celebrations in Islamabad will showcase the strong cultural, diplomatic, and sporting relations between the two countries. The festivities, supported by the External Publicity Wing, will feature various programmes and activities.

The week will kick off with a formal reception for National Foundation Day and Armed Forces Day, honouring Korean culture and military strength. This opening event will be attended by diplomats, officials, and military representatives from both nations.

On October 23, the Liaquat Gymnasium will host the Korea-Pakistan Cultural Gala, a cultural fair where artists from both countries will present traditional and modern artworks. The public is invited to attend this free event.

Ambassador Jun also highlighted that the celebrations will include Korea-Pakistan Movie Day, showcasing films from both nations that reflect shared values and stories. This segment aims to enhance bilateral relations through the medium of film.
