A boy from Swat, Muhammad Bashar, has brought honour to Pakistan by securing fourth place in an international Quran recitation competition held in Algeria.
The contest, titled 'Mazameer Dawood,' was organised by the Algerian private media outlet, Echorouk, and ran from 18th to 31st August.
More than15 countries were represented in the event, showcasing some of the world’s most talented young Quran reciters.
Muhammad Bashar’s impressive performance earned him a $1,500 prize, highlighting the deep cultural and spiritual connections between Pakistan and Algeria.
In addition to this event, Algeria’s Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments annually hosts the International Quran Recitation Competition under the patronage of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
