Megan Thee Stallion has announced a new musical collaboration with BTS' RM.

The Houston rapper, aged 29, shared on social media on Sunday (Sept. 1) that she and the BTS star have teamed up for a new track titled "Neva Play." The single is slated for release on Friday, Sept. 6, with pre-save options now available on streaming platforms.

In her Instagram post, Megan shared a promotional drawing of herself, sporting blue hair and holding cash, with RM casually looking over his shoulder in the background.

The post was captioned, “NEVA PLAY WITH RM OUT FRIDAY HOTTIES X ARMY #MEGJOON.” She further added, “ps. This is one of my favorite RM verses I’ve heard! I’ve never heard him rap in this style before.”

The announcement garnered significant attention, including from Halsey, who previously collaborated with BTS on their hit track “Boy With Luv.” Halsey commented, “Screaming!!!!!!!” on Megan’s post, showing her excitement.

Earlier in the week, Megan hinted at a new duet on X (formerly Twitter) with a series of cryptic emojis: “🐎X💜 👀.”

Fans quickly speculated that the purple heart was a nod to BTS. The next day, BTS’ official account confirmed the collaboration with their own emoji-laden post: “🐎X🦔(🐨),” followed by, “Coming Soon! 💜👀.”

This collaboration comes just two months after Megan Thee Stallion released her third album, Megan, which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200.

Meanwhile, BTS members are currently on hiatus from full-band activities as they fulfill their mandatory military service, with some members pursuing solo projects during this period.

"Neva Play" marks Megan’s second collaboration with BTS members, following her feature on the remix of their Billboard Hot 100-topping single "Butter" in 2021, which they performed together at BTS’ Los Angeles concert in November of that year.
