Terrell Edmunds, a veteran defensive back for the Jacksonville Jaguars, is being released by the team, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport.

Despite this move, the Jaguars are interested in bringing Edmunds back to their practice squad, provided he isn't claimed by another team for their 53-man roster.

Edmunds, who was drafted in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers after a standout college career at Virginia Tech, has become an NFL journeyman in recent years.

In 2023, he signed a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles before being traded to the Tennessee Titans in October. Edmunds later joined the Jaguars in May 2024.

Over his NFL career, Edmunds has recorded 458 total tackles, 7.5 sacks, 6 interceptions, and 28 pass deflections. His release from the Jaguars could present new opportunities as teams evaluate their rosters ahead of the season.
