The video kicks off by highlighting Cabello's TikTok activity, where fans speculate that she reacted to Carpenter's song. The lyrics "if she's so amazing why are you on this side of town if you like her so much" have fueled the fire, leading many to believe they are directed at Mendes.

To add context, Cabello and Mendes, once a beloved pop power couple, called it quits in 2021 after dating for over two years. Their split sent shockwaves through the music industry and their dedicated fanbases. However, hopes for a reconciliation were rekindled when the pair were spotted sharing a kiss at Coachella last year. Cabello even alluded to this brief reunion in her song "June Gloom." Interestingly, this Coachella kiss occurred shortly after Mendes was rumored to be involved with Carpenter.
