R&B duo TLC was forced to abruptly cancel two concerts after Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins was unexpectedly hospitalized. The group was scheduled to perform at the New York State Fair on Friday, August 23rd, and at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut the following day.
However, upon arriving in Syracuse for the Friday show, Watkins experienced sudden and severe nausea, vomiting, and intense abdominal cramps. She was immediately taken to the hospital where she was diagnosed with a severe abdominal blockage.
Initially, New York State Fair organizers attributed the cancellation to food poisoning. However, TLC later clarified on Instagram that Watkins was suffering from an abdominal blockage, not food poisoning. The singer expressed her deep regret for the cancellations and apologized to fans and promoters.
TLC's statement assured fans that Watkins was under medical supervision and expected to be released soon. The group emphasized their commitment to rescheduling the missed shows and thanked fans for their understanding and support.
This incident marks another health setback for Watkins, who along with the group had to cancel Canadian tour dates earlier this year due to illness. Fans are sending their well wishes to T-Boz for a swift recovery.
