Tortured body of young girl found in garbage dump

Victim was brutally raped, killed; CM orders police chief to bring culprits to justice

The tortured dead body of a young girl was found in a garbage dump near Lucky Star in Saddar on Sunday. The victim, believed to be around 11 years old, was identified later in the night as Ganga, daughter of Hari Chand from impoverished Hindu Vaghri community living in the slum under the Lilly Bridge.

Her body was found stuffed in a sack near Iqbal Autos on Mir Karam Ali Talpur Road in the Saddar area.

After receiving the report, police reached at the scene and shifted the body to JPMC in a Chhipa ambulance. The forensic team has collected evidence from the site, and police are investigating the case.

Police investigators suspect that the girl was abducted from an unknown location, taken elsewhere for torture, and then killed. Her body was stuffed in a sack and dumped at the trash pile between Saturday and Sunday. Police are reviewing footage from nearby CCTV cameras to trace the vehicle used in the crime.

The body has been moved to the Chhipa mortuary for identification, and a murder and kidnapping case has been registered against unknown suspects.

The post-mortem examination conducted at JPMC indicates that the girl was between 9 and 11 years old. Police Surgeon Dr Summaiya Syed Tariq stated that initial findings suggest the girl was sexually assaulted before being murdered.

Samples for serology, DNA, and intoxication tests have been collected. The cause of death will be determined pending results from the chemical examiner.

Body identified

The body of the girl found in a bag near a garbage dump close to Lucky Star in Saddar has been identified.

According to SSP South Sajid Sadozai, police have searched the girl's relatives, who reside near Lilly Bridge in the Frere police station limits. The girl has been identified as Ganga, daughter of Hari Chand, and belongs to the Vagri community. The police are continuing their investigation and will soon reveal more details about the incident. They are also obtaining CCTV footage related to the case.

Frere police station SHO Irfan Mayo reported that they have spoken with the victim's family and facilitating them in filing the case.

The FIR was registered at Saddar Police Station on the complaint of the victim's mother. The case includes charges of murder and rape.

The complainant stated that they live near the railway crossing under the Lily Bridge. She mentioned that her daughter, Ganga, was at home while she took her other children to the doctor. Upon returning, she found that Ganga was missing. Her body was discovered at 6am. the following morning.

Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah taking notice of the horrific crime expressed deep sorrow and said, "it is sad that such incidents are occurring in our society."

He directed IG Police Ghulam Nabi Memon to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident and ensure that the culprit is brought to justice.
