A restaurant cashier was shot dead allegedly by a co-worker while he was sleeping in a room on the 4th floor of their restaurant, located on 10th Commercial Street, DHA, Phase V, on Sunday morning.
As soon as informed, police rushed to the scene and called the Crime Scene Unit to collect evidence. The victim's body was shifted to JPMC for legal formalities, where he was identified as 42-year-old Sohail Danish, son of Haroon Rasheed.
Danish worked as a cashier at the restaurant and also lived on its fourth floor.
SDPO Darakhshan, Manisha Rupita, told journalists that the shooting took place around 6:30am. The accused, identified as Zulfikar, also a cashier, fled the scene after the crime. Zulfikar resided in a nearby building. At the time of the incident, two other employees were present in the restaurant and are considered eyewitnesses. Both have been taken to the police station for recording their statements.
Rupita further stated that a day before the incident, a heated argument had taken place between the victim and the accused, which likely led to the murder.
