DIJKOT:

A case has been registered against three men on the charge of blackmailing and extorting Rs20,000 after recording an indecent video of a girl during friendship on phone.

A resident of Sultan Nagar told the police that Saqlain had befriended his 22-year-old daughter on phone. Later, the suspect recorded a video of the girl doing indecent acts and then started blackmailing her, extorting money and valuables worth Rs20,000 from her.

The suspect along with his accomplices Numan and Ashraf threatened the victim and asked her to give them a similar video of a cousin of hers. The suspects also blackmailed her and demanded another Rs20,000.

When the demand was not fulfilled, the suspects uploaded the pictures on social media.

The police registered a case and started efforts to arrest the suspects.

Meanwhile, a man frustrated with domestic troubles committed suicide by hanging himself. The police took the body into custody and handed it over to the deceased's family after completing legal formalities.

The deceased was identified at 28-year-old Muhammad Ashfaq, a resident of Mohalla Usman Ghani in Ghulam Muhammadabad.

Ashfaq worked at a cloth shop and had two daughters and a son. He hanged himself after returning home from work in the evening and finding everyone asleep.

According to the police, Ashfaq had a fight with neighbours about a month ago, which was later reconciled.
