Emmy-winning actor James Spader is making a comeback to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, reprising his role as the voice of the robotic villain Ultron in the untitled Vision series as per report by THR. This series serves as a follow-up to the acclaimed WandaVision show and marks Spader's return to the character he first played in 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Paul Bettany is also returning as Vision, the android who was tragically destroyed by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War but was brought back in WandaVision. Terry Matalas, known for his work on Star Trek: Picard, is at the helm of the new show, which explores white Vision's quest for a new purpose in life.

The addition of Ultron to the series adds another layer of complexity to the narrative. Ultron, a sentient being created by Tony Stark as a defense program, ultimately turned against humanity and created his own Vision. However, the Avengers intervened before Vision gained consciousness, and he was ultimately given life with the help of Bruce Banner and Tony Stark's AI, J.A.R.V.I.S.

Ultron was seemingly destroyed at the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron, leaving fans curious about how he will return and what his relationship with Vision will be in this new series.

The Vision series is considered the third part of a trilogy that began with WandaVision and continues with Agatha All Along, debuting in September on Disney+. The new show is scheduled to begin filming in England in early 2025.

Spader, a seasoned actor with a successful career in both film and television, is known for his roles in movies like Sex, Lies and Videotape and Pretty in Pink, as well as his award-winning performance in the TV series Boston Legal.
