John Cena recently discussed some of his most uncomfortable filming moments during an appearance on Shannon Sharpe's Club Shay Shay podcast. The WWE star reflected on his experience filming a comedic s*x scene with Amy Schumer in the 2015 movie Trainwreck, where he was asked to perform elaborate and awkward stunts. "Amy is an angel, she made the environment so comfortable," Cena said, but he admitted that the experience was far from intimate, with catering and the sound tent close by. "There is nothing intimate about it. Nothing. So it’s real embarrassing, and on top of that, to do a comedic s*x scene when you’re making fun of yourself? They were literally like, ‘Try to have the most awkward s*x you possibly can.’"

Cena also shared that the most uncomfortable experience of his career wasn't the scene with Schumer, but rather his nearly nude appearance during a 2024 Oscars sketch. He described walking out almost naked in front of an audience filled with decorated performers and industy professionals as even more embarrassing than the Trainwreck scene. "I walk out in front of a room of my peers...and I’m gonna go out there, with an index card covering me like, ‘Hey guys, is this funny? Are we good?’” Cena recalled.

These moments highlight the challenges and awkwardness actors can face on set, especially when comedic elements are involved.
