Blake Lively’s latest film, It Ends With Us, has achieved a significant milestone at the North American box office, crossing the $100 million mark despite facing backlash. The film, which addresses the sensitive issue of domestic abuse, has resonated with audiences, maintaining strong box office performance against tough competition, including Deadpool & Wolverine, Twisters, Alien: Romulus, and the re-release of Coraline.
Directed by Justin Baldoni, who also stars in the film alongside Lively and Brandon Sklenar, It Ends With Us has proven to be a box office success. According to a report by Deadline, the film earned $2.8 million on Monday, playing across 3,739 theaters in North America, bringing its domestic total to $100.4 million. This achievement places the film third among all movies currently in theaters and sets it on track to potentially become Lively's highest-grossing film to date.
The film is also performing well internationally, accumulating $82.2 million at the global box office in just eleven days since its release on August 9. With its combined domestic and international earnings, It Ends With Us has reached a worldwide total of $182.61 million, according to Box Office Mojo. Despite a dip of around 54.6% from the previous Monday’s earnings, the film continues to attract viewers, demonstrating strong legs at the box office.
It Ends With Us is based on Colleen Hoover’s best-selling novel of the same name, which has a devoted following. The film's success reflects its ability to connect with audiences on a deep emotional level, even as it navigates challenging themes and the scrutiny of public opinion.
