Alex Cooper, host of the widely popular Call Her Daddy podcast, has signed a multiyear deal with SiriusXM, ending her association with Spotify. The move, set to begin in 2025, represents a significant shift in the podcasting landscape, as Cooper’s show has been one of Spotify’s top original podcasts, second only to Joe Rogan’s Joe Rogan Experience as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. Cooper’s new deal with SiriusXM will include exclusive advertising and distribution rights for her flagship podcast as well as the Unwell brand’s lineup of shows, including Hot Mess with Alix Earle and Pretty Lonesome with Madeline Argy.
Expressing her excitement, Cooper stated, “The Daddy Gang will always be my top priority, and with SiriusXM we will continue to find new ways to evolve and provide my listeners the best experience.” SiriusXM President Scott Greenstein praised Cooper’s “fearless, unfiltered approach,” noting that her move aligns with the content SiriusXM subscribers have come to expect.
Cooper previously signed a record-breaking $60 million deal with Spotify in 2021, and reports indicated she was seeking at least $100 million for her new deal. The switch to SiriusXM follows a trend of major content creators shifting platforms, as seen earlier this year when SiriusXM acquired SmartLess from Amazon.
The transition marks a new chapter for Call Her Daddy, which originally launched in 2018 as a bawdy chat show on Barstool Sports before evolving into a “modern twist on feminism” podcast with a wide range of celebrity guests. Cooper, dubbed “Gen Z’s Barbara Walters” by Rolling Stone, recently launched the media company Trending and its subsidiary Unwell Audio Network, LLC, with her husband and business partner Matt Kaplan.
