Donald Trump’s granddaughter Kai joins University of Miami golf team: "Beyond excited"

Donald Trump’s granddaughter Kai shared a significant life update over the weekend.

The "beyond excited" 17-year-old announced to her Instagram followers on Sunday that she has made a "verbal commitment to the University of Miami" and will be joining the school’s golf team.

In her lengthy caption, she gave a special mention to the former president.

Kai expressed, “I would like to thank my Grandpa for giving me access to great courses and tremendous support.”

She also expressed her appreciation for her dad, Donald Trump Jr., and mom, Vanessa Trump, who finalized their divorce in 2019, for "always supporting" her athletic endeavors.

Kai added, “I would also like to thank my Mormor for always believing in me. I would also like to thank my entire family for always encouraging and pushing me to be the best person I can possibly be. I would like to thank my friends for always cheering me on.”

She wrapped up her post with, “Last but not least I would love to thank Coach Janice and Coach Jim for giving me this opportunity. I am super excited to be a cane and represent the University of Miami. Gooo Canes! 🧡💚 “

In the photos with her parents, Kai wore a green Miami cap, a white tank top, denim shorts, and a Louis Vuitton belt.

Vanessa, 46, shared Kai’s announcement on her Instagram Story, proudly stating, "So proud of my daughter Kai."

Kai is the eldest child of the former couple, with Vanessa and Donald Jr. also being parents to Donald III, 15, Tristan, 12, Spencer, 11, and Chloe, 10.

Last month, Kai talked about her passion for golf during a speech at the Republican National Convention.
