A security guard was killed in firing by robbers who were trying to steal Rs23.2 million near the Karachi Stock Exchange on Thursday evening. The police have registered a case and are investigating the incident. This is the 87th incident of its kind in the city where robbers have shot and killed someone who resisted them.

SSP District City Arif Aziz said that a case number 150/2024 has been registered at Mithadar Police Station under sections 392 and 397 of the PPC against unknown robbers on the complaint of Muhammad Bilal, an employee of the company. The complainant said that four robbers on two motorcycles had committed the robbery.

Aziz further said that during the incident, the security guard of the company, Gul Zamir, who was with the complainant, was shot and injured by the robbers due to resistance. He was taken to Civil Hospital in critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries. The CCTV footage of the incident has also come to light, which shows the robbery taking place. However, the police are investigating further in this regard and will soon arrest the culprits. The martyred security guard was a resident of Keamari and originally from Swabi.
