Conservative Christians have strongly criticised a recent trend among female Republicans posting bikini photos on social media in support of Florida Representative Anna Paulina Luna.

The controversy began when a 2016 video of Luna dancing in a MAGA-themed swimsuit resurfaced. Some detractors suggested that her attire was inappropriate for a Congresswoman.

In response, Luna addressed the criticism on X, formerly Twitter, with a sarcastic post.

The situation escalated when Ginger Gaetz, wife of Rep. Matt Gaetz, shared a series of bikini photos featuring female Republicans, including Rep. Lauren Boebert, to show solidarity with Luna.

While intended to express support, these posts ignited further controversy within conservative circles.

Conservative Christians condemned the trend as religiously immoral and labelled these female Republicans as "christless." They argued that promoting bikini photos under the guise of empowerment was inconsistent with Christian values.

Some conservative women claimed this trend made them look "trashy" and degrading. Critics emphasised that modesty should be prioritised, asserting that true beauty and empowerment do not require revealing clothing.

The debate has underscored growing tension within the conservative Christian community as they grapple with the balance between personal expression and maintaining traditional values.
