Last December, Barry Keoghan and Sabrina Carpenter's rumored romance made headlines after they were first spotted together in LA.

The pair confirmed the speculation when they were seen getting close at a Grammys afterparty.

Since then, they've become internet sensations, but recent reports suggesting they've split up caused a stir among fans. Although Keoghan and Carpenter haven't directly addressed these breakup rumors, Keoghan's recent actions may have offered some clarity.

On Friday, the gossip account DeuxMoi shared an anonymous tip alleging that Keoghan and Carpenter had broken up, which understandably alarmed fans. However, shortly after these rumors surfaced, Keoghan seemed to address them indirectly by liking Carpenter’s latest Instagram post promoting her upcoming album, "Short n’ Sweet."

While the actor, who appeared in Carpenter’s “Please, Please, Please” music video, hasn't directly commented on the rumors, this social media gesture might be his way of setting the record straight.

Ahead of her album release, Carpenter spoke with Variety about "Short n’ Sweet" and reflected on her past collaboration with Keoghan. She mentioned that Keoghan, who played a troubled boyfriend in the music video, was particularly fond of the song’s lyrics.

“He loved the song. He’s obsessed with the lyrics, and I’m so grateful for that,” Carpenter said. She also praised Keoghan, calling him one of the best actors of this generation, and noted that his involvement added significant value to the video.

"Short n’ Sweet," set for release on August 23, 2024, will be Carpenter’s sixth studio album. Despite her transition from a Disney star to a pop sensation, Carpenter admitted she sometimes still feels like a newcomer in the industry.
