Britain offers early warning support

The British High Commission has offered cooperation with the Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) to deal with natural calamities, including early warning system.

A delegation of the British High Commission, led by the head of Commonwealth Development, by Clara Strandoj, visited the PDMA.

The PDMA director general briefed the delegation about the flood simulation model.

He said the PDMA is on alert to deal with all the challenges, including flood, Covid, dengue, drought, smog and heatwave.

Advance warnings and alerts are issued to the administration about heatwaves, rain, floods and other disasters.
