More rain expected in Karachi as pleasant weather continues

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasts another spell of light rain for Karachi on Monday, continuing the sporadic drizzles and light showers that the port city has experienced for over a week.

The mercury dropped to 26.5°C, with temperatures expected to reach a maximum of 30-32°C today, according to the PMD. Humidity in the air was recorded at 92%, while the wind speed from the west ranged between 14 and 24 kilometres per hour in the morning.

Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz stated that the weather is expected to remain pleasant throughout the week, with intermittent drizzles and light rain likely to continue. He also predicted another monsoon spell in Sindh, beginning on 18 August, which could bring downpours to various parts of the province.

Early Sunday morning, areas including Mauripur Road, Lyari, Gulistan-e-Johar, Malir, Shah Faisal Colony, Gulshan-e-Jamal, Rashid Minhas Road, Sharea Faisal, Korangi, and their adjacent localities received light rain, making the weather more pleasant.

On August 8, the Met Office announced that strong monsoon currents were expected to penetrate from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal into various parts of the country until August 12.
