ISLAMABAD:

Supreme Court Justice Mansoor Ali Shah on Thursday underscored the need to interpret laws in line with Islamic principles.

Addressing a four-day training event on Islam and International Humanitarian Law in the federal capital, Justice Shah highlighted that the Quran and Sunnah provide eternal guidance for humanity. The top court justice stated that the laws should be interpreted with the consideration of Islamic principles.

On the importance of the environment, Justice Shah noted that references from the Quran and Sunnah, rather than from western jurisprudence, would have a deeper impact on people's minds.
