Pakistanis erupted in celebration as Arshad Nadeem secured the nation’s first-ever individual Olympic gold medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Arshad Nadeem, a star javelin thrower, set a new Olympic record with a throw of 92.97 meters, surpassing the previous record held by Norway’s Andreas Thorkildsen.

In a video shared by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), prominent cricketers were seen celebrating Arshad’s victory, expressing their pride and joy on social media.

Babar Azam, the national cricket captain, tweeted, “After 30 long years, the gold is back in Pakistan! Huge congratulations to @arshadnadeem29 for this incredible achievement.”
