Taylor Swift drops ‘My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys (First Draft Phone Memo)’ for 24 hours

Swift released a limited-time digital album featuring a new bonus track.

On Saturday, August 3, Taylor Swift announced on social media that a digital version of her album "The Tortured Poets Department" is available for purchase for 24 hours, including a bonus track titled "My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys (First Draft Phone Memo)." 

The offer is accessible until 11:59 a.m. ET on Sunday, August 4. Swift shared the announcement on her Instagram Story, providing a link to her website where fans can buy the digital album and the bonus track for $4.99. 

This new release follows her earlier mid-May drop, which included three limited versions of her latest album with first draft phone memos of "The Black Dog," "Cassandra," and "Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?" 

The finished versions of these songs are part of the 31-track anthology version of "Tortured Poets," but the phone memos offer a glimpse into Swift's creative process.

This new release arrives shortly after "Tortured Poets" marked 12 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart in mid-July, setting a new record for Swift. 

The album surpassed Whitney Houston’s 1987 album, "Whitney," to become the only album by a woman to spend its first 12 weeks at the top of the Billboard 200. This achievement also marked a personal best for Swift, whose albums "1989" and "Fearless" each spent 11 weeks at No. 1.

Swift is currently on the European leg of her Eras Tour, concluding its third show at PGE Narodowy in Warsaw, Poland, on Saturday. She will next perform in Vienna for three consecutive concerts at the Ernst-Happel-Stadion from August 8-10, followed by five shows at Wembley Stadium in London. 

After completing the European leg, Swift will return to the U.S. and Canada for a final tour segment in November and December.
