Governor Kundi demands resignation of CM Gandapur over corruption charges

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, accusing him of corruption.

The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader made these remarks during a press conference at the residence of PPP Punjab leader Nadeem Afzal Chan on Saturday.

Kundi alleged that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) minister had "charge-sheeted" Gandapur, indicating that there were accusations against him from within his party.

"I've been saying all along that there are price tags on transfers and postings in the province," Kundi said.

"Now even PTI ministers have stated that Ali Amin is involved in corruption, and a provincial minister has expressed a lack of confidence in him in the presence of the Information Adviser."

Governor Kundi called on Gandapur to show moral responsibility by resigning from his position.

"Ethically, Ali Amin Gandapur should resign," he asserted.

He further commented on political alliances, saying, "Alliances are formed and broken in politics.

Maulana was our ally, and PTI members used to say Maulana forms alliances over phone calls or incentives. Now, PTI should explain what incentive or call Maulana is forming alliances over."

Addressing the recent elections, Kundi stated, "Maulana is respected by us; we contest elections from the same constituency.

Maulana claims there was a robbery in the elections. Will he retrieve his spoils from PTI?"

Kundi questioned whether PTI had apologised to Maulana for previous derogatory remarks.

"Will PTI's provincial president apologise to Maulana? PTI members are being spun by Maulana," he added.

Regarding the PPP's position, Kundi acknowledged, "The party is going through tough times in Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa".

"We will reactivate the party in both regions, and the next chief minister of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa will be a PPP member."
