Joaquin Phoenix, the star of the upcoming film 'Joker: Folie à Deux', recently shared a surprising anecdote about his co-star Lady Gaga's reaction to his singing. In an interview with Empire magazine, Phoenix revealed that Gaga spit up her coffee the first time she heard him sing on set. Despite this unexpected reaction, Phoenix found it encouraging and praised Gaga for her support throughout the process.
The film, a sequel to the critically acclaimed 'Joker', is set to be a jukebox musical featuring both well-known and original songs. While details of the soundtrack remain under wraps, Oscar-winning composer Hildur Guðnadóttir is expected to contribute her distinctive style.
Casting director Francine Maisler also revealed that Lady Gaga was not her initial choice for the role of Harley Quinn, crediting director Todd Phillips with the idea. Maisler was impressed by Gaga's performance, stating that she "blows your mind" in the film.
'Joker: Folie à Deux', starring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga, is set to hit theaters on October 4, 2024.
