Remand in honey trap case extended

LAHORE:

Anti-Terrorism Court judge extended a seven-day physical remand of nine accused including Amna Aruj allegedly involved in kidnapping playwright Khalilur Rehman Qamar for ransom.

As proceedings commenced, the court was informed that the accused persons were identified by the victim Qamar during identification parade in jail while two accused named Maryam Shehzad, sister of Amna Aruj and their friend Shumayel was given clean chit after they were not identified.

The judge ATC discharged both the accused from the case.

The rest of the accused Tanveer Ahmad, Qaisar Abbas, Rasheed Ahmed, Falak Sher and five others were produced before the court.

As per the FIR, the suspects robbed Qamar of his mobile phone, watch, cash and transferred Rs250,000 from his ATM card.

The playwright added that the kidnappers blindfolded him and left him in a deserted area before fleeing.
