In the past 24 hours, Karachi's suburban area, Gadap, recorded the highest rainfall, measuring at 56.7 millimetres, according to the latest figures released by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
This heavy downpour in Gadap contrasts with significantly lower measurements in other parts of the city, highlighting a disparity in rain distribution.
Orangi Town experienced 35.7 millimetres of rain, while Surjani Town saw 28.1 millimetres and North Karachi 27.2 millimetres.
Lesser affected areas included Gulshan-e-Maymar with 16.7 millimetres, Nazimabad at 15.6 millimetres, and the PAF Masroor Base in Mauripur recording 14 millimetres.
Further moderate to light showers were recorded in Bin Qasim and Quaidabad, both at 12.5 millimetres, and Keamari, which saw 10.5 millimetres. The PAF Faisal Base reported an even lighter shower of 10 millimetres.
The MET Complex and Jinnah Terminal received 7.6 and 6.9 millimetres respectively, while Korangi had 6.4 millimetres. The least affected was DHA Phase Two, where only 1.2 millimetres of rain was noted.
PMD forecasts partially cloudy skies with possibilities of light to moderate rain continuing across Karachi today.
