Lil Nas X recently faced internet backlash after sharing a video of himself flying commercial.

Critics called him "broke" for not flying private. However, the Grammy-winning artist had a strong response, emphasizing the environmental impact of private jets.

When celebrities flaunt their wealth, they often face criticism. Spending on luxury is seen as out of touch, while frugality can be misinterpreted as financial trouble.

Lil Nas X became the latest target of this scrutiny when he posted a video of himself flying commercial. Comments flooded in, with one user asking, "aren’t you supposed to be flying private? gasp are you... broke?"

Defending his choice, another user pointed out, "Fun fact: most famous people with a few dollars in the bank fly commercial. Everyone would run through their fortune if they flew private every time they needed to go somewhere." Another comment questioned, "Did the Montero money run out?"

Exasperated by the criticism, the "Industry Baby" rapper responded on X, saying, "to all u bitches calling me broke for flying on a regular plane i don’t wanna see not one viral carbon footprint tweet when yall see my ass on a jet."

The hypocrisy of the situation was noted by another user, "This really how they do niggas man. Clown u for flying commercial and then make TikTok’s of your private jet movements." Another user echoed this sentiment, "I honestly don’t get people judging for taking coach… you’ll get to the same place in the same time frame and it’s cheaper like?"

Despite his success, Lil Nas X is a relatively new artist with an estimated net worth of $9 million. While substantial, it doesn’t afford constant private jet travel.

His decision to fly commercial is both practical and environmentally conscious, deserving of praise rather than criticism.
