Josh Hartnett, once a rising star in Hollywood, has traded his high-profile career for a quieter life in Hampshire, England.

Renowned for turning down roles like Superman, Hartnett now enjoys a fulfilling life away from the Hollywood spotlight. Living with his wife, actress Tamsin Egerton, and their four children, Hartnett's days are filled with managing a menagerie that includes pygmy goats, chickens, and guinea pigs.

In a recent interview with The Guardian, Hartnett reflected on his decision to step back from the limelight, stating, "I just didn’t want my life to be swallowed up by my work."

The actor, who gained fame through films like "Pearl Harbor" and "Black Hawk Down," left LA nearly two decades ago.

He has since focused on smaller, more challenging roles, notably in films like "Oppenheimer" and the upcoming "Trap" from M. Night Shyamalan.

"Trap," which hits UK cinemas on August 9, features Hartnett as a father who becomes entangled in a deadly trap at a pop concert. Hartnett’s career shift aligns with his desire to prioritize family and personal growth over traditional stardom.

"I recognize the missed opportunity to work with a guy like Chris [Nolan]," he admits, reflecting on his choice to forgo blockbuster roles.

Hartnett’s rural lifestyle allows him to experience his children’s growth more intimately and pursue personal passions like painting.

Despite his lower profile, he continues to choose projects that align with his artistic vision and personal values.
