Nick Jonas recently addressed the affectionate title 'National Jiju' given to him by his Indian fans. The term, which means "elder sister's husband," reflects his marriage to Indian actress Priyanka Chopra. Jonas discussed the nickname during an interview with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, where he explained its significance.

Jonas shared with Fallon, "As you know, I am married to Priyanka. When we got married, this hashtag began. I was 'National Jiju.' Jiju means 'elder sister's husband,' thus I'm India's older brother." The Tonight Show host also played a clip from a Jonas Brothers concert in India, where Nick was introduced as "Jiju" by his brothers Joe and Kevin Jonas.

Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra tied the knot on December 1, 2018, at the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The couple welcomed their daughter, Malti Marie, on January 15, 2022, via surrogacy. The name Malti Marie honors both of their mothers, with Malti being the middle name of Priyanka's mother, Dr. Madhu Chopra, and Marie named after Nick's mother, Denise Jonas.

Jonas's relationship with his Indian fans has been warm and enduring. His connection to the country has grown stronger since his marriage to Chopra, a prominent figure in Indian cinema. The 'National Jiju' nickname has become a symbol of this bond, reflecting the affection and acceptance he has received from his Indian admirers.

In professional news, Nick Jonas will appear in John Carney's musical comedy Power Ballad, set for release in 2025. This project adds to his diverse career, showcasing his talents as both a singer and actor.
