A child died and six other people, including two minors, were injured, in two incidents of roof collapse in separate areas near Lahore.

A two-year-old girl died and a six-year-old boy was injured in an incident of roof collapse in the Barki area. According to local sources, the victims were inside a room in the Hadiara village when the roof suddenly collapsed.

As a result, the victims were trapped under the debris. Local people called rescue teams who removed the debris, evacuated the victims and shifted them to a nearby hospital.

The victim Hafiza was pronounced dead, was the injured child was identified as Sami Ullah.

In the other incident, five members of a family were injured when the roof of a house collapsed due to heavy rain in Chak 38 near Kala Shah Kaku.

Rescue officials shifted all the injured to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Muridke, where the condition of three of them was declared critical.

The roof of the house in the Nayanwala farm area collapsed due to heavy rain. Among the injured were 28-year-old Asad, 30-year-old Rashid, three-year-old Maira, 25-year-old Neelam and 28-year-old Adil.

Asad, Neelam and Rashid were shifted to a hospital in Lahore because of their critical condition.
