ISLAMABAD:

Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani said that art has always been a powerful medium to raise awareness and promote understanding among people.

He was speaking after the inauguration of a fundraiser art exhibition at the Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA) on Friday.

He extended heartfelt appreciation to all the artists who have dedicatedly worked to make this exhibition a success and contributed immensely to the country’s cultural heritage. The youth of Pakistan represents a bright future for the nation, and today's young people will be the prominent architects of tomorrow, he said and stressed the importance of providing young artists with the best opportunities to develop their skills.

As an art enthusiast himself, Gilani highlighted the impact of art on people, saying that it inspires and motivates them. He acknowledged the growth of fine arts and digital art in Pakistan but emphasised the need for effective strategies and measures to further improve this sector. The ability to imagine and bring ideas to life on canvas is a remarkable art form that captivates the viewer. Every artist has a unique personality in their own way, he added.

Gilani highlighted the importance of awareness about new trends in art, allowing artists to explore new dimensions and showcase their work.

He encouraged students of calligraphy and fine arts to hone their skills, noting that the artworks on display at the exhibition were masterpieces that demonstrated the artists' expertise.

He suggested that such exhibitions should be held in all provinces to promote artistic talent nationwide.

The chairman was also accompanied by Governor Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi during the exhibition.
