Pedro Pascal has shared the first photo of "The Fantastic Four" cast, generating excitement among Marvel fans. The image, posted on Instagram, features Pascal alongside co-stars Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn in London, as well as a separate photo of director Matt Shakman. Filming for the highly anticipated Marvel movie is set to begin next week.
Pascal captioned the post, "Our first mission," which quickly garnered attention and excitement from fans. The timing of the photo release has led to speculation about the cast's presence at Comic-Con. Fans expected the stars to appear at Marvel Studios' panel on Saturday, July 27. However, their presence in London suggests they might not attend in person. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige previously confirmed that filming would start "the Monday after Comic-Con," potentially explaining their absence from San Diego.
Feige expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, "I'm extremely excited because those characters are mainstays, are legendary pillars of the Marvel Universe that we've never gotten to play with or explore in any significant way."
Details about the film remain scarce, but it is known that the story will be set in the 1960s, though it might not reflect our 1960s. In addition to the main cast, Julia Garner will portray Shalla-Bal, also known as Silver Surfer, and Ralph Ineson will play Galactus. John Malkovich, Natasha Lyonne, and Paul Walter Hauser are also part of the cast, though their roles have not been disclosed. There is speculation that Lyonne might play Alicia Masters, the girlfriend of Ben Grimm.
"The Fantastic Four" is scheduled to be released in cinemas on July 25, 2025. With filming about to commence, fans can expect more updates and possibly some official announcements at Comic-Con, even if the cast is not physically present.
