Security forces foiled a terrorist attempt to infiltrate into the country from Afghanistan, killing all the three terrorists in the night between Sunday and Monday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Monday.
The ISPR said that Pakistan had consistently been asking the Afghan government to ensure effective border management on their side of the border, adding that the Pakistan security forces remained committed to securing its borders and eliminating the menace of terrorism from the country.
Movement of three terrorists, trying to infiltrate Pakistan-Afghanistan border, was detected by security forces in Dir District. The infiltrators were surrounded, effectively engaged, the ISPR said, adding that all three terrorists were killed after an intense fire exchange.
Pakistan has consistently been asking Interim Afghan Government to ensure effective border management on their side of the border. Interim Afghan Government is expected to fulfil its obligations and deny the use of Afghan soil by terrorists for perpetuating acts of terrorism against Pakistan, it said.
